Clean-up Campaign

The Africa University Clinical Research Centre (AUCRC) in collaboration with other Stakeholders and volunteers held a clean-up campaign in the City of Mutare around Mac’s Shopping Center in New Palmerstone. The campaign was championed by the PAPSE project team and the United Methodist Youth Fellowship Mutare District, which was supported by the Local business community. The City of Mutare donated gloves, protective clothing, bins, and transport to dispose of the collected waste. Members of the community also showed overwhelming support showing up in their numbers to look after the environment. Ensuring a holistic approach to waste management and showing youth a way to make money through recycling, the CRC also hosted a workshop for the UMC Youth Fellowship group to tap into the spirit of entrepreneurship in establishing recycling start- ups.
