Making Sense of TB Data (MSTB) 2
Background
The MSTB project was formulated with the aim of capacitating the National TB program to make sense of TB data at local level and to develop dashboards for key epidemiological and data quality indicators in three Provinces. MSTB Phase 1 worked on the facilitation of updating existing NTP training materials. It also helped in producing a template for data verification, cascade, trend and comparative data analysis
Why MSTB 2?
Despite all the efforts to improve on the quality of TB patient care and strengthening of TB control in MSTB Phase 1, there were some notable gaps that remained in the coordination of TB data collection, analysis and usage which all lead to the formulation of MSTB phase 2 which targets to address all the above mentioned gaps.
Goals of MSTB 2
MSTB 2 aims at reinforcing the NTP M&E Framework and the National TB Control Program guidelines since there was a notable gap as the existing guidelines do not describe how TB data collected is analysed and used to improve quality of TB Patient care and strengthen TB control.
Objectives
MSTB 2 seeks to address the above mentioned gaps through ensuring the execution of the following activities:
- Strengthening NTP data collection, analysis and use systems
- Carry out training of 2 DHE`s
- Roll out data review meetings and training of DHE`s in need of interventions on data quality
- Conduct post training mentorship visits with routine data quality assessment in 3 Provinces from Phase 1
