Dr Fadzai N.N. Mukora-Mutseyekwa (MBChB, MPH)

Director of Innovations, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation, John Snow research & Training Inc. (1/2014-12/2017)
Worked on the USAID-funded Maternal & Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP) in Zimbabwe – a US $12.6 million, four year project (USG Cooperative agreement) which supported the MOHCC in introducing evidence based integrated Maternal Newborn & Child Health (MNCH) programs, enhancing quality improvement, systems strengthening and developing human capacity across a range of clinical cadres.
Responsible for design and implementation of public health surveys, operational and implementation science research protocols; Supporting the development, pilot & documentation of innovative strategies to improve health system efficiencies; Oversight for the project’s Performance Monitoring Plan & liaison with technical team to inform program decisions; MOHCC engagement & support.

Mandla Tirivavi - Research and Programs Manager
Mandla Tirivavi is currently the Research and Programs Manager at Africa University Clinical Research Centre – Research Support Services Unit. She holds MA in Social Behaviour Studies, BSc Counselling, Certificate in Clinical Trials Coordination and a Certified Research Management Professional by the International Professional Recognition Council (IPRC). Final year Post Graduate Diploma in Research Management and Administration with Stellenbosch University. She is a senior staff member at Clinical Research Centre –Research Support Services Unit with 20 years in the field of research coordination and management. She provides pre-award support, compliance and ethical processes. Provides post-award support for project implementation trainings in ethics and coordination for new project staff as well as mentorship of new project coordinators. She is part of the team that spearheads and facilitates the development of Institutional Research Management policies and manuals in the Office of Research and Innovation.
Samantha is a Public Health Specialist with a special interest in lifestyle and prevention medicine and experience in research & programming. She has a strong background in nutrition, food technology, laboratory sciences and quality assurance. Samantha, is passionate about changing Africa’s narrative about poor health systems leveraging on technology, research & innovation. She is currently specialising in Monitoring & Evaluation of several public health programs & research projects within the unit.

Improving the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities in a team environment provides me with enormous gratification. Through strengthening health capacity, risk reduction and prevention activities we can achieve health for all.
Wietske Maria Mushonga - Coordinator
Wietske is a Medical Laboratory Scientist, trained in the Netherlands.
Her career milestones at Africa University were assisting in establishing the Medical Laboratories in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Subsequently, developed and co-ordinated the one year Medical Laboratory Certificate Programme for Laboratory Assistants. Taking part in the development of the very popular Medical laboratory Sciences (Honours) degree programme which she coordinated for many years. She is currently coordinator of the VectorLink Malaria Program.
Nyarai Mugadza - Coordinator
Nyarai is a nurse by profession and is currently working as a project coordinator at the Clinical Research Centre. She holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing management with Africa University and a Certificate in Project Management and Evaluation.
Linda Jane Mukwambo - Coordinator
Linda Jane Mukwambo is a nurse by profession and is working as a project coordinator at the Clinical Research Centre. She holds a Bsc in HIV/AIDS management and community development with Chinhoyi University of technology, and Certificates in systemic counselling, Rapid HIV testing and in Family planning. Currently she is studying for a Master in Public health with Africa University.
Biggie Maingehama - Finance and Administration Assistant
Biggie is an Accountant with over 15 years’ experience, and currently the ZENTO project Finance and Administration Assistant. In his current role he is responsible for providing budgeting and accounting support for project implementing team including regular updates of project budgets and provision of financial advice, as well as providing assistance on developing financial and operating systems and internal controls for the project, including compliance of the project with local laws and USAID regulations
Karen Varaidzo Masasi - Finance and Administration Officer
Karen Varaidzo Masasi is a versatile individual with 12 years’ experience in the finance field and is currently the Finance Officer of the Clinical Research Centre. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Honors) degree with Africa University and a Masters of Commerce in Economics degree.
Tinashe holds a Bachelor of technology (Honors) degree in Electronic Commence from the Harare Institute of Technology and is skilled in content development, electronic marketing and website development.
Tinashe Magurupira - Project Communications Assistant
Vigilant Zuze
Holds a Diploma in General Nursing (Mpilo Central Hospital), BA in Nursing Science (UNISA), Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health (UNISA), Executive Masters in Business Administration (Africa University). Joined Africa University Clinical Research Centre on voluntary basis in September 2020 to date, has coordinated the PAPSE 2 Project from January 2021 to December 2021. Besides coordinating the PAPSE I assisted with the MRCZ clearance for the Outcomes of teenage pregnancy related referrals for UBH & Mpilo Central Hospital, DSA/DSI and UNICEF studies. I was also a research assistant for the recently ended UNICEF and DSA/DIS projects
Evidence Mwayeka
Evidence Mwayeka has been a Papse project Community Mobilizer with 3 years’ experience as a Mobilizer and 1 year experience as a data capture of the Clinical Research Centre. He received his Diploma in Counseling from Ocean bird foundation and currently he is studying a national diploma in Public Health-Monitoring and Evaluation with Harare Institute of Public Health.
